The successful candidate reporting to the Director of Health, Safety and Training will be accountable for the physical security management arrangements that enables the business to meet its employee commitment to be a safe and secure business. Key Responsibilities: •Develop, implement and manage security policies, procedures and programmes to protect the company assets, colleagues and customers. •Accountable for setting organisation wide standards for security incidents investigations, inspections, threat assessments and audits. •Coordinate with external security agencies, law enforcement and regulatory authorities to address security incidents, emergencies and investigations. •Represent the Company as required in national security meetings such as Security Task Group. •Act as the company subject matter expert on all relevant security legislation or guidance from security agencies which the organisation is subject to, and setting policies that ensure compliance. •Provide training and briefings to colleagues across the business on security practices and developments that enhance security awareness and response. •Maintain your knowledge on the latest security information and best practices such that improvements can be made to our security programmes and systems Key Competencies: •Ability to develop and translate strategy into practical action plans which ensure that the business delivers its goals and is appropriately positioned for current and future development •Ability to demonstrate clear thought processes and logic in decision making, through adaption of the plan, execute, measure and correct philosophy •Proven or demonstratable written and verbal communication skills to a high level •Ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service •Ability to influence others and gain buy-in and commitment. Qualifications and Attributes Essential qualifications and experience: •Able to demonstrate proven experience in security management or law enforcement roles •Experience in developing and implementing effective security strategies to protect the company against threats, theft, vandalism and other security risks •Analytical mind-set with the ability to effectively assess risks and develop mitigation strategies •Achieve or have National Security Vetting clearance at SC level •Full, clean UK driving license Desirable qualifications and experience: •Experience in applying programme management controls to successfully deliver projects •Excellent IT skills including security management systems, surveillance systems and Microsoft Office suite •Educated to degree level in a numeric or business related discipline •Membership of the Security Institute •Understanding of the electrical distribution network As the post you are applying for attracts a National Security Vetting clearance there are further eligibility requirements for which information can be found on the gov.uk website.
