Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance in London on a part time permanent basis with growing charity. This Head of Finance role is paying up to £45, per annum pro rata.
The Head of Finance be a key hire in building the finance function for the charity. Managing both the Financial and Management Accounts as well as business partnering with various stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:
1. Prepare statutory financial statements, the Annual Report, and the Impact Report each year, liaising with external auditors.
2. Manage monthly payroll processing and coordinate with the third-party payroll provider.
3. Oversee the annual renewal of the charity's insurance policies.
4. Control expenditure to ensure value for money.
5. Manage bank accounts and maintain financial controls.
6. Compile and consolidate statistical and financial reports from three partner charities and prepare funding reports in Excel for external stakeholders.
7. Prepare quarterly management accounts and reports for trustees.
8. Monitor and report on the use of restricted grant income.
9. Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow prudently.
10. Provide ad hoc financial information and analysis for senior management as needed.
11. Develop the charity's financial strategic direction to ensure financial resilience.
Person Specification of the Head of Finance:
12. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience in managing finances of similar organisations.
13. Previous experience in leading financial responsibilities.
14. Experience in preparing financial statements and managing the year-end audit process.
15. Skilled in preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
16. Ability to control and monitor cash flows.
17. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word, with the ability to consolidate financial and statistical information for external reporting.
18. Experience in balancing detailed numerical finance tasks with strategic financial input for CEO and Board.
19. Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build successful working relationships with non-finance staff, funders, and stakeholders.
20. Team player capable of supporting the Trustee Treasurer and CEO while managing and developing a bookkeeping staff member.
