The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK.
We have a vacancy for an Accounts Payable Manager
The Accounts Payable Manager plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing and payment of purchase invoices, completion of month end-processes, and providing support during interim and final audit of VMD Annual Report and Accounts. The role will report to the Financial Operations Manager.
Experience required:
• Experience of leading and working in an Account payable team, with a good understanding of purchase ledger processes and procedures.
• Team player, customer focussed and able to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, offering advice and resolving queries.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team to ensure delivery of outputs
• Microsoft packages - Excel, Word, Outlook
• Understanding of accounts software although training will be provided for VMD accounting software, Sage X3
