The Finance Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the finance department with daily accounting and financial operations. This position is essential for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the efficiency of financial processes. The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of accounting principles, exceptional organisational abilities, and the capability to work collaboratively within a team. This role reports directly to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities include...
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
1. Process invoices, verify financial data, and ensure timely payments.
2. Manage customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
3. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accounts.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
4. Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system.
5. Maintain up-to-date and organized financial records and documentation.
Bank Reconciliation:
6. Assist in performing daily bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
7. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:
8. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
9. Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Expense Management:
10. Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
11. Monitor and report on company expenses.
Audit Preparation:
12. Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
13. Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Administrative Support:
14. Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
15. Assist with special projects and tasks as required by the Head of Finance.
