Team leader care - Crystal Palace - London - 26k -33k
To work in a 26 residents care home with mental health issues and disabilities. 40 hour week working shifts and some weekends.
Job Purpose:
The Care Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care and support services to clients. This involves managing and supervising a team of caregivers, ensuring the team provides compassionate and effective care, and maintaining a safe and compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Supervision:
2. Supporting Deputy care Manager
o Team lead, motivate, and manage a team of care staff, ensuring the highest standards of care delivery.
o Provide regular supervision and support to the team through one-on-one meetings and team meetings.
o Schedule staff shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times.
o Monitor performance, provide feedback, and offer coaching to staff as needed.
3. Care Delivery:
o Oversee and ensure the delivery of personalised care plans for each client.
o Assess and monitor the well-being of clients, ensuring that care is provided according to their needs.
o Ensure that all care tasks (personal care, medication assistance, daily living activities, etc.) are carried out according to the care plan and regulatory standards.
4. Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
o Monitor the quality of care being delivered, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and internal quality standards.
o Complete and maintain accurate care documentation, including client records, care plans, and incident reports.
5. Training and Development:
o Identify training and development needs within the team and facilitate opportunities for growth.
o Provide or arrange for staff training in line with regulatory requirements and care standards.
o Encourage professional development and ensure the team is up-to-date with best practices and industry trends.
6. Client and Family Liaison:
o Develop positive relationships with clients and their families, ensuring clear communication regarding care plans, concerns, and progress.
o Address and resolve any concerns raised by clients, families, or staff in a timely and professional manner.
7. Team Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and teams to ensure holistic and comprehensive care for clients.
o Ensure good communication and teamwork within the care team, as well as with external agencies when necessary.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Essential:
o Proven experience in a care setting, with leadership or supervisory role.
o In-depth knowledge of care plans, medication management, and personal care tasks. Aware of CQC standards
o Strong understanding of relevant healthcare legislation, compliance standards, and safeguarding procedures.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, families, and team members.
o Strong organizational and time-management skills.
o Ability to stay calm and make decisions in challenging situations.
o Enhanced DBS clearance
2. Desirable:
o NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
o Previous experience in managing or mentoring staff.
o First Aid and CPR certified.
o Understanding of the local community and resources available to clients
