Binnies an RSK Group company is looking for a Delivery Director to join our @one Alliance.
Purpose
Water and our natural environment are the foundation of life, society and economies. This is due to a combination of a growing economy, the highest rate of new housing development in the UK, climate change and being a major agricultural producer.
Anglian Water’s purpose is to bring environmental and social prosperity to the East of England, through our commitment to Love Every Drop. Anglian Water have an ambitious £9bn 5-year capital investment programme (£2.3 bn in @one) that will provide safe and resilient water supplies, permit sustainable growth, provide climate change resilience, and protect and improve the natural environment.
Purpose of the Role
• Due to the significant increase in the capital Programme within the @one Alliance, the Delivery Director is a new role which will be responsible for the Profit and Loss for one of four delivery team’s; identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities through AMP8 major investment projects.
• Be responsible for the design. build and delivery of the capital investment programme, ensuring each program in the region is delivered on time.
• Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders (both internally and externally) – to manage and deliver their expectations, but also to enable to the work to be carried out with ease.
• Contribute as an SLT member to the AMP8 Strategic Planning
Role Summary
Be an integral part of the @one alliance - one of the most successful, award-winning and progressive water sector capital delivery organisations.
• Direct significant capital investment projects, promoting growth, digital capabilities and sustainable solutions.
• Lead integrated Delivery teams responsible for delivering a diverse program of wastewater (sewage) treatment, infrastructure (water and sewer pipelines) and water (treatment and storage) projects to achieve AMP8 objectives.
• Innovate and develop industry leading initiatives focusing on outcomes rather than outputs, reducing carbon, enhancing natural capital, addressing climate change, and embracing new digital technologies.
• Build and maintain professional networks and partners within the @one alliance. • Manage the profit and loss for the portfolio.
• Develop and grow relationship/partnerships with local and regional stakeholders, including EA, Defra, Local Planning Authorities, Councils and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of @one working with Board of Directors and partner representatives.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
• Develop strong, collaborative relationships and trust between Anglian Water and @one alliance’s teams.
• Build strong aligned relationships and understanding with AW operational leadership.
• Manage the key internal and external stakeholders. • Act as a point of escalation, mediation, and resolution for both Anglian Water and the @one alliance
Performance
• Drive business objectives of Anglian Water and the @one alliance, ensuring performance exceeds contract targets.
• Lead the development of the @one alliance’s AMP8 delivery programme for sustainable project release.
• Be accountable for the successful delivery of the business objectives, providing clear direction and support in balancing commercial leadership and performance, carbon (Capex/Opex) reduction sustainable development and the championing of nature based solutions.
• Ensure business targets and Governance is achieved through regular reviews with the project leads, ensure risks and opportunities are communicated.
• Report business performance to the Managing Director and the Finance Director and the @One Board as required.
Planning and Construction
• Foster a culture of innovation, value, and challenge through robust business plans that meet business objectives and manage risk.
• Facilitate rigorous root cause analysis, investigations, and data analysis to develop and select solutions.
• Conduct rigorous root cause analysis and data analysis to develop optimal solutions.
• Engage delivery team discipline experts to ensure project deliverables are met, focusing on affordability, design, planning, sustainability, construction, procurement and operations.
• Manage the risk opportunity & value processes to produce value driven outcomes, considering TOTEX, Benefits, and Six Capitals.
• Ensure a culture of continuous improvement through active project reviews.

• Engage, support, and contribute to Anglian Water pan-alliance initiatives.
• Engage with and develop relationships with the wider water sector, to help enhance both yours and the @one alliance’s performance and reputation.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree
• Extensive experience in the delivery and operational planning of significant infrastructure projects.
• Previous Director level experience.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver long term strategic plans aligned to business objectives in a collaborative environment.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, business operations and regulatory requirements.
• Experience of the utilities sector assets preferable.
• Proven experience in delivering high value capital projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experienced with financial planning, budgeting and headcount management.
• Ability to anticipate and balances the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, uses compelling arguments to gain the support and commitment of others.
