Job title: Commercial Manager Reporting to: Managing Director Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid – minimum expectation person will be office based 3 days per week) Our client is a well established, PE-backed manufacturer of chemical products. As part of their continued growth and commitment to excellence, they are looking for an experienced and dynamic Commercial Manager to join their team. Role and responsibilities The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving the commercial success of the business. This includes managing customer relationships, developing and executing sales strategies, optimising cost and pricing models, and leading the identification and development of new opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the chemical industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely in a cross-functional team to achieve success. Role reports into the MD and, as a member of the leadership team, this person will not only influence the short-term future but also have the opportunity to take on more responsibility within the group. The role will undoubtedly be very different in year 5 from what it will be at the time of appointment. Attributes Results-driven, with a strong focus on achieving revenue and profitability goals. Experience | Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Business. 5 years of experience working in a relevant business with sector experience will be highly desirable. Ideally from a coatings or chemicals background with broad experience in either commercial, account management or business development roles. Possess a strong understanding of the chemical industry, ideally with experience in the field of coatings and adhesives and the ability to identify and understand customers pain points and unmet needs.
