If you are looking for a new exciting challenge, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Support Medical Secretary to provide administrative and typing duties within the Ophthalmology Department. You should have a meticulous approach to work and excellent communication skills to support our team of existing Medical Secretarial and administrative team.
Our Ophthalmology service provides general and specialist Ophthalmology clinics, Orthoptic and Optometry clinics. At the heart of everything is the patients - and one of the most important aims is to provide the best possible patient experience, the goal of being the best place to receive healthcare, and the best place to work.

Main duties of the job
To provide a support medical secretarial service within the Ophthalmology Department. To undertake accurate audio/copy typing of medical correspondence and general administration for the Consultants and their teams. This will include highly sensitive and complex medical terminology with a need for confidentiality. To work collaboratively with Medical Secretary colleagues to ensure clinical correspondence is produced and distributed within acceptable timeframes. It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative commensurate with the role.

1. GSCE or equivalent at Grade C or above in Maths and English Language.
2. OCR/RSA II Typing or equivalent.

4. Medical Secretarial AMSPAR Diploma
