We are looking to introduce a Driver Mentor/Assessor at our Seaham Facility, to support Transport Managers with employment and annual assessments.
The Mentor/Assessor will ensure that all new drivers are competent and are fully familiar with vehicles, equipment, and depot procedures. Hours of work in this role with vary dependant on training duties required.

£ per hour, there will also be an uplift of £ per week once training for this role is complete.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To drive a HGV vehicle ensuring the completion of all daily driving functions, safely and accurately in compliance with the company H&S procedures and Working Procedures.
2. To assist with new driver interview assessments.
3. To carry out on the road employment and annual driver assessments.
4. Carry out post incident assessments (as required).
5. Mentor new drivers on-road with vehicle, trailer, and equipment familiarisation. To include all current transport procedures.
6. Carry out any required familiarisation on new equipment (vehicles/ trailers tail-lifts etc.).
7. To ensure drivers are familiar with tachograph compliance and usage.
8. Complete assessment reports for completion of assessments and onboarding, or re-training.
Who we’re looking for:
9. Must be a qualified HGV Class 1 driver with a valid CPC.
10. Clean driving licence.
11. An excellent Tachograph Infringement record.
12. An excellent incident record.
13. Experience of mentoring advantageous.
14. Can demonstrate good driving techniques.
15. A regular top scorer on performance telematics.
16. Able to direct and advise drivers on best practice.
17. Knowledge of Health & Safety, driver compliance and documentation completion.
18. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
19. Experience of administration using basic Microsoft packages would be ideal.
20. Able to effectively communicate suggestions and improvements to the driver and advise the Transport Management.
21. Able to work without direct supervision.
22. Conscientious and reliable.
