A leading and rapidly expanding privately owned Food Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Sales Account Manager / Business Account Manager to grow the UK Sales portfolio, working with the independent trade channel. This role will support the sales function and maintain an interface throughout the trade market, driving volume and brand recognition.
This role will be home-based with extensive travel. A full UK driving license is essential, and flexibility to travel UK-wide 3-4 days per week plus overnight stays where required. All travel will be fully reimbursed. A Midlands base would be advantageous from a travel perspective. This is a new role to the business to manage multiple trade accounts and trade shows/events. The company is North West based but travel will be national.
Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain excellent relationships with current business partners to maintain product range.
2. Work with and support the independent trade channel by providing field sales support, instore development, and presentation of the full range of products.
3. Produce and work to a journey plan to ensure effective UK coverage.
4. Establish detailed plans with key customers that demonstrate delivery of annual sales targets and ensure their achievement.
5. Undertake product audits and provide detail for our marketing department for development, gap analysis, competitor activity, and trade promotional activity.
6. Identify new business opportunities both with existing customers and elsewhere which will positively contribute to the business plan.
7. Be aware of market changes and developments (e.g. competitor activity) that may influence the progress and development of our sales plan.
8. Assist in the trade show programme.
9. Assist at key shows and events programmes.
10. Communicate regularly and as required with the Business Development Manager.
11. Co-ordinate promotional activity in line with the trade marketing plan.
12. Be the champion of the company brand with all customers and target audiences.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Minimum of 2 years' experience in sales and sales development that demonstrates progression and success, ideally within a food brand environment.
2. Experience dealing with key accounts and a proven track record of business acquisition and growth within the independent trade sales in the food sector.
3. Excellent communicator at all levels - inspires confidence in front of all audiences and in all situations (including senior management).
4. Organised with good planning skills, a self-starter, enthusiastic, and able to gain the support of customer and company personnel.
5. Able to travel extensively throughout the UK.
6. Full UK driving licence.
