The Governors are looking to appoint a Clerk to Governors with outstanding personal, organisational and computing skills to join our school. The Clerk performs a critical role, working closely with the School, the Governing Body and the Head teacher. The Clerk will be accountable to the Governing Body and will be responsible for advising the Governing Body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. The Clerk will secure the continuity of Governing Body business and observe confidential requirements.
Bourne Community College is a growing and unique 11-16 mixed comprehensive Trust school, valued and supported by the local community. We have been awarded the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Award ‘Gold’, which very few secondary schools hold in the country, for the second time.
There are approximately 16 meetings per year, usually held Tuesday afternoons/evenings. The successful candidate would need to be willing to work flexible hours to attend these Governor meetings.
Knowledge of how schools and Governing Bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work. Full training is available for the right candidate.
This is a permanent post, term time only, to start in 2025. Salary will be paid at Grade 4 Points 5-6 £23500-£23893 p.a. pro rata (£12.18-£12.38/hr).
