We're looking for a General Operative to join our UKPN team based in Cambridge.
Location: Cambridge with travel across the EPN area
Contract: Permanent - Full time
What will you be responsible for?
As a General Operative, you'll be working within the UK Power Networks team, supporting them in delivering civil infrastructure works to the Power sector.
Your day to day will include:
* Carry out works following control measures as set out in the SSoW, permits and other safety documentation. Provides feedback on documents and instructions including providing positive criticism and proposed improvements.
* Be aware of their surroundings and environment including reporting issues with Plant & Equipment, excavations, and the like. Acts including challenging and stopping works, when works or conditions deviate from the Method Statement and Risk Assessment.
* Safely operate plant and machinery including pre-work checks
* Attend all RAMS, Safety updates, TBTs and Daily Activity briefings.
* Support the site team in their Principal Contractor responsibilities by ensuring that all procedures are followed, all individuals are competent to undertake the task assigned to them and that the correct PPE, tools and equipment are used.
What are we looking for?
This role of General Operative is great for you if:
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* CSCS holder / EUSR SHEA Power or equivalent basic H&S proven knowledge
* Understanding of general technical requirements and working practices.
* UK driving licence holder mandatory
