Main duties of the job
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of staff at University Hospitals Birmingham and external clients. A core aspect of your responsibilities will be managing and administering immunisation and vaccination clinics, ensuring that clients receive necessary vaccinations while maintaining accurate records in compliance with health and safety standards.
Working alongside senior Occupational Health Advisors, you will have the opportunity to prioritise and manage your own workload, ensuring services are delivered efficiently. You will be expected to stay on top of the latest guidelines and best practices in occupational health, ensuring that all assessments and clinical interventions are delivered in line with current regulations.
On a regular basis, you will be expected to provide direct care to both internal and external clients in OH clinics, managing your time to ensure all services are delivered in a timely manner. You will collaborate with the MDT, to ensure holistic support for clientele. Strong record-keeping and an adherence to confidentiality are key components of the role, as well as maintaining compliance with all relevant occupational health standards and policies.
Based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, you may occasionally be required to cross-cover at Birmingham Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull hospitals as needed. To arrange an informal visit, please contact one of the Senior Advisors on 01213717170.

1. * Evidence of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level leading to Professional registration on the appropriate part of the NMC register (Adult / Child / Learning Disability or Mental Health)
2. *Evidence of undergraduate education for newly qualified nurses / or post graduate continuing professional development for registered nurses who have post registration experience

3. *Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary health and care setting (can include undergraduate student placements within the last 12 months)
4. *Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment.
5. * Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct and the proficiencies and standards for registered nurses can apply this to undergraduate training or post graduate practice.
