Position Description:
The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. CGI are on the hunt for a Defence Business Development Manager on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for the identification, development, and successful closure of strategic Deployed Land Environment new business within CGIs Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit.
You will manage activities to identify and create new business growth and run strategic campaigns in nominated high-growth areas. You will be part of the business area leadership team and will support the design and implementation of a focused go-to-market strategy to include the target client, propositions, contact plan and win strategy. Your performance will be measured primarily against objectives based on the value of opportunities won each year as well as delivery against in-year revenue and margins for new business.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Define, develop, and own key target client relationships and contact across Army HQ, Defence Digital, DE&S and Dstl as well as potential industrial partners.
• Develop relationships with key industrial partners that will assist in business growth.
• Engage early in the business development cycle with senior level client representatives to influence strategy and increase the chance of both qualification and winning.
• Employ a consultative approach to understand customer business issues and align CGI propositions to create new business opportunities, position CGI and create the opportunity to differentiate.
• Successfully qualify opportunities early in the bid cycle and minimise bid costs by ensuring efficient use of resources with a focus on opportunities where the chances of success are good.
• Build and develop account growth and win plans.
• Create and then lead pursuit teams (covering bid management, solution, finance, operations, and delivery) to successfully bid for contracts within an agreed bid budget.
• Deliver both total contract value, and in-year revenue objectives.
• Work closely with the sector leadership team to communicate new business activity, pipelines, and forecasts
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Extensive experience in business development and sales, ideally within a Defence Land Environment (LE TacCIS, LE ISTAR, LE CEMA, land platforms) orientated software intensive System Integration or IT Services environment.
• Defence insight and experience, including involvement in industry trade committees and working groups.
• Good understanding of the MoD and Army business processes, and acquisition processes and procedures.
• Proven track-record of achieving new business objectives and delivering profitable business outcomes.
• Self-sufficient and results driven, excited by the prospect of playing an important role in growing the business.
• Good leadership skills in managing, motivating, and coaching.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
