We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact on students' lives.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a key role in creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes students' well-being and academic progress. Your responsibilities will include one-on-one and small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and collaborating with teachers and other support staff to implement personalized learning plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
* Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
* Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
* Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development.
* Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
* Assist with the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities and interventions.
* Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
* A genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and mental health of students.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience.
* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEMH support are desirable but not essential.
