Primary Purpose of the Role - (18 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Our supply chain is a crucial and fundamental aspect of our business and has a significant influence on products, delivery performance and competitiveness; therefore we are constantly looking to improve its level of performance and conformance across our business portfolio.
The Supplier Performance Manager will:
1. Work with our key suppliers to help improve their quality systems, production processes and capabilities.
2. Manage supplier quality & delivery performance through the utilisation of continuous improvement techniques, performance reviews, Supplier Performance Tool, Risk & Opportunity Management and other action plans.
3. Act as a conduit to improve the overall operational interface between Thales and the Supplier, using lessons learned for the continuous improvement of both parties.
4. Identify opportunities for innovation sharing, co-design/development utilising the relevant capabilities of both parties for mutual benefit.
5. Support Thales Group activities during supplier crisis management activities.

6. With other members of the Supplier Operations team-, Supplier Development Managers and Supplier Quality Assurance Managers
7. Internally with all functions including Procurement, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Security, HR and Project Management.

Experience:
Essential
18. Demonstrable history of managing performance improvement projects preferably in Defence, Aerospace, Security and Transport sectors.
19. Understanding and knowledge of Quality Management principles and systems.
20. Supply chain engineering experience within a low to medium volume environment, light mechanical / electro-mechanical production environment or other relevant sectors.
21. Awareness and use of continuous improvement techniques and practical implementation of lean manufacturing.
22. Experience of operational management, manufacturing and ERP systems, including routings, BOM`s, Concessions, Change Requests etc.;
23. Broad process knowledge including machining, assembly (both mechanical and electronic) and test.
24. The job holder is also expected to have the ability to communicate clearly and freely as well as to have the ability to produce high standard documentation for project and external use.
25. Working in ISO9001/AS9100 environments.

26. Business acumen, awareness of organisational models, markets, technologies.
27. Track record of stakeholder engagement and management.
28. Understand practical problem solving skills and techniques including (8D, DMAIC, 8D, PDCA)
