Job Title: Commercial Finance Senior Manager
Location: Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds
About Us:
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Senior Manager to lead an internal finance team, providing exceptional decision support to a business unit within the Deals Line of Service (LoS). This is an opportunity to be the cornerstone for our Business Partnering teams, driving financial excellence and business growth.
Our Deals Line of Service consists of four diverse business units generating an annual turnover exceeding £m. The business units cover a variety of products and services, working with clients to create, realise and protect value when advising on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, divestitures or operating in a crisis situation. With circa Partners and over 2, staff, Deals is one of the most vibrant and multifaceted areas within PwC.
About the Role:
As a Commercial Finance Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role as the primary commercial lead within the Finance Business Partnering team that supports the Deals Line of Service (LoS). This role entails collaborating with PwC’s Deals business and engagement leaders to drive commercial insights and solutions in support of the business’s and the firm's financial strategy and desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Finance Strategy Development:
1. Design and implement commercial strategies from an overall Line of Service Profit and Loss (P&L) perspective to drive profitability and maximize revenue.
2. Drive commercial decision-making through forward-looking analysis, addressing sector challenges and adapting to industry demands.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
3. Lead key analyses on price and delivery chain mix to enhance profitability.
4. Provide market and proposition-focused insights to Business Leadership and LoS COO.
5. Perform in-flight commercial reviews for complex engagements and influencing margin improvement. Sharing lessons learned and embedding them in future engagements.
Stakeholder Engagement:
6. Work collaboratively with the Finance Director, Operations Director and Sales & Marketing Director to provide information, insights, advice, and decision-making support to the Deals COO and leadership.
7. Engage with all stakeholders regularly to gather key insights and share commercial messages.
Performance Improvement:
8. Identify and drive commercial improvement initiatives and opportunities for innovation.
9. Design and lead relevant commercial performance improvement projects and initiatives.
Benchmarking & Best Practices:
10. Lead the annual cost rate and proposition benchmarking process for the Deals LoS, communicating results to the business.
11. Leverage insights from counterparts in PwC’s wider network and Commercial Teams to share knowledge and best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience:
17. Must possess an Accountancy Qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), or an international equivalent.
18. Strong commercial skills and understanding of business dimensions.
19. Experience in high-level business strategy.
20. Broad understanding of the macroeconomic and external business environment.
21. Ability to build and sustain internal and external relationships.
22. Strong influencing skills and the ability to challenge when necessary.
23. Proficient analytical skills to formulate and execute long-term plans.
24. Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (desirable).
25. Effective change management skills.
26. Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint.
