Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer
Salary: Scale LC2 - £34,314 to £37,938 per annum
Location: Swansea
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)
The Council is proud to serve the people of the town and local area. With a budgeted income of nearly a quarter of a million pounds, the Council plays a prominent role in the life of its residents, through the provision and delivery of a range of services.
Answerable to the Council as a whole, the role will require you to act as the principal legal and financial officer of the Council, enabling it to fulfil its statutory obligations. As the Clerk/RFO (Proper Officer) of the Council, you will play a key role in advising on, and supporting the formulation of policies, and ensuring the constructive and effective implementation of the Councils decisions.
To be effective you will need to be able to demonstrate a dynamic skill set, including the ability to think and act strategically, as well as having experience of administrative management in a complex and challenging environment. This will include the supervision of four members of staff and ensuring that the Council delivers all of its policies within the relevant legal frameworks and established best practice.
