We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician role at HMP Lewes to join our team. HMP Lewes is a category B male prison. Lewes prison is based near the centre of the historical town of Lewes, which is just a 5 minute walk away.
Due to HMP Lewes holding remand prisoners, we do require staff to work on a rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if you are looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview stage.
This position is full time hours a week and youll receive an annual salary up to £31,710 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs. Working on the prison wings, you can expect to be involved in everything from medicine management, administering medications, patient counselling, medicines reconciliation etc. You may be required to participate in certain activities concerning the day-to-day operational management of the unit and as such must ensure that you are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities. Youll be able to demonstrate assessment skills, including the undertaking of risk assessments and have sound patient counselling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!
