My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team based at their Cleveland based office working on education and health projects. My client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor who deliver projects across a range of sectors including health, education, highways, justice, defence, aviation, water and environment.
Reporting into the Project Director, my clients are looking for someone who can lead and manage a project team, ensure they are fully resourced and delivered safely on time and within budget to high quality client specifications. The project includes a Medical Centre, GP’s facility, Dental Centre, Primary Community Rehab Facility, Occupational Health and Community Mental Health centre.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the company IPCD.
2. Ensure the safe and efficient execution of the project in line with company IPCD.
3. Manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the Project Process Document.
4. Manage the resources on the project on a day to day basis and to report any staff issues as appropriate.
5. Manage project commercial issues and cost reporting (WIP).
6. Identify the clients requirements and ensure we deliver these requirements to the clients’ satisfaction.
7. Represent the company on any internal or external issues.
8. Prepare detailed plans and procedures to administer the project and ensure the project team are familiar with and follow these guidelines.
9. Manage all project reporting is provided upstream and downstream on a timely manner.
10. Regularly audit the project to ensure compliance.
11. Communicate with the project team regularly on project specific matters and company initiatives.
12. Manage the project cash flow is positive throughout the life of the project.
13. Manage procurement and achieve best value for Engineering Services.
14. Identify all risks and manage actions and implementation to mitigate such risks.
Experience and qualifications
15. Mechanical Bias Project Engineer
16. Managing a project team to reach completion within budget and to programme.
17. Programme production and management
18. Interpret the requirements of the specification
19. Resolve any technical queries during the contract
20. Managing procurement, labour and sub-contractors.
21. Assisting in managing variation accounts
22. Assisting in preparing monthly applications
23. Construction management and liaising with supervision team
24. Site operations – installation and commissioning
25. Maintaining good working relationships with the client and professional team.
26. Stakeholder engagement and management
27. Controlling contract costs and variations.
28. Value engineering projects to create cost savings.
29. Co-ordinating M&E Services installations
30. All health and safety requirements during the contract including compiling method statements and risk assessments
31. Compilation and presentation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals
32. Contract values ranging from £2m and above
33. Healthcare experience
34. Degree: BEng (Hons) Building Services Engineering – preferable
35. BTEC HND Building Services – preferable
36. BTEC: HNC Building Services – essential
37. BTEC: ONC Building Services –essential
38. IOSH directing safely - preferable
39. CSCS card – essential
40. SMSTS course – preferable
