My main contractor client is growing their team and is looking for a strong Design Manager to join their team in North East England. With projects varying from residential, commercial, education, and healthcare, this company has a strong pipeline of work and a healthy order book for the next couple of years. They are looking for someone who is a team player who can add value to their team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the design process from tender stage through to completion.
2. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure design objectives are met.
3. Oversee the production of design deliverables, ensuring they align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
4. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and statutory bodies to ensure all design work complies with relevant regulations and standards.
5. Manage design risks and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in managing the design process from tender.
2. Main contractor experience would be preferable, but those with client and project management experience would also be considered for this role.
3. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
