Whatyou'll do
As a DataScientist, you’ll bring together statistical, mathematical,machine-learning and software engineering skills to considermultiple solutions, techniques and algorithms to develop andimplement ethically sound models end-to-end. We’ll look to you tounderstand the needs of business stakeholders, form hypotheses andidentify suitable data and analytics solutions to meet those needsin order to maximise the protection for Wealth and Retailcustomers.
As well as thisyou'll be collaborating effectively across the Fraud CoE and DataAnalytics teams, showcasing experiments, and sharing best practicesand techniques by using repository tools such asGitlab
You’ll alsobe:
* Using datatranslation skills to work closely with business stakeholders todefine detailed business questions, problems or opportunities whichcan be supported through analytics
* Applying asoftware engineering and product development lens to businessproblems, creating, scaling and deploying software driven productsand services
* Working in an Agile way withinmulti-disciplinary data and analytics teams to achieve agreedproject and scrum outcomes
* Selecting, building,training and testing machine learning models considering modelvaluation, model risk, governance and ethics, making sure thatmodels are ready to implement andscale
* Iteratively building and prototyping dataanalysis pipelines to provide insights that will ultimately lead toproductiondeployment
Theskills you'll need
You’llneed a strong academic background in a STEM discipline such asMathematics, Physics, Engineering or Computer Science. You’ll haveexperience with statistical modelling and machine learningtechniques, as well as the ability to operate with ahigh degree of independence and feel comfortable working within ageographically distributedteam.
We’ll alsolook for you to have experience of developing Tableauor similar data visualisation dashboards to steer businesspriorities and performance within financial servicesknowledge, and an ability to identify wider business impact, riskor opportunities and make connections across key outputs andprocesses
You’ll alsodemonstrate:
* Theability to use data to solve business problems from hypothesesthrough to resolution
* Experience usingprogramming language and software engineeringfundamentals
* Experience of Cloud applicationsand options
* Experience in synthesising,translating and visualising data and insights for keystakeholders
* Experience of exploratory dataanalysis
* Good communication skills with theability to proactively engage with a wide range ofstakeholders
