About The Role
As a Governance Officer at East Kent Colleges Group, supporting the Group Director of Governance, you will play a critical role in providing high quality support and administration for a range of EKC Group governance functions.
You will ensure effective arrangements are in place to deliver a comprehensive and robust corporate governance administrative framework which meets its reporting requirements effectively contextualising discussions to identify key messages and actions.
Attendance at all governor meetings is required, you will produce board packs to ensure all papers are received, collated and distributed by the required deadlines, minute-take at Governing Body and other Governor meetings and other duties such as tracking Governor attendance and supporting regulatory and other audit requirements.
You will review, develop and maintain governance systems including governance sections of the Group website and intranet site and all other monitoring platforms, ensuring the documentation on it is relevant, accurate and up to date.
You will also be responsible for the coordination of individual governor engagement sessions and lead governor activities.

About You
You will be able and confident to work independently and have an awareness of corporate governance and experience of minute writing at board level.
You will need a high level of IT skills, integrity, and respect confidentiality.
You will be able to communicate effectively in all written and verbal forms, including at meetings, with individuals at all levels of the Group.
You must be extremely organised, having excellent attention to detail together with the ability to plan, manage deadlines.
You will work flexibly across East Kent and demonstrate a professional approach to your work.
Previous experience of corporation governance in either the public or private sector would be advantageous but not essential.
