This role involves negotiating group contracts to achieve optimal commercial value across all expenditures. You will influence both internal and external stakeholders, including clients, throughout the sourcing process to successfully execute category plans, meet group objectives, and address business needs. Your focus will be on risk management and maximizing commercial benefits in alignment with our business strategy while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience: · CIPs qualified and/or extensive knowledge and experience of the fundamentals of procurement · Strong negotiation skills and commercial expertise · Strong presentation skills including the ability to present complex information clearly · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Strong influencing skills and relationship building capability across all levels · Can prioritise and works well across a multi-site group · Demonstrable experience within contract law and commodity or base raw material tracking methods · Sound understanding of financial accounts · Full understanding of the principles of industrial supply and supplier compliance · Comprehensive MS office including excel · The ability to challenge effectively whilst maintaining relationshipsStrong analytical and operational execution skills with an attention to detail · Solid leadership skills with the ability to achieve results through collaorative working with others Role Accountabilities: · Procurement Strategy: To lead the function to develop and deliver the medium to long term procurement strategy ensuring maximised value to DIS and its client base by ensuring business and client needs are understood and managed to deliver long term sustainability. · Product knowledge & Market Expertise: To lead the function using expert market and product knowledge. · Risk Management: : Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing robust mitigation plans to address them. Risk plans where appropriate are presented and agreed with the appropriate stakeholders. · Commercial & contracting: Negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms and prices with suppliers Take ownership for prices centrally and track ongoing performance. Generate measurable financial and commercial information from the supply base. · Supplier Management / KPI’s: Develop and own senior relationships with all suppliers ensuring performance measures are in place which are reviewed regularly. Use these measures to ensure that key suppliers are meeting SLA’s and continuous improvement targets relating to value, quality, service, risk management, innovation and compliance. · Best practice: Implement and maintain standardised procurement processes across the group ensuring colleagues always follow best practices to achieve procurement excellence and compliance. Continually revisit to assess any improvements required to meet business needs · Relationships: To be recognised as the Procurement expert for DIS, managing and influencing on procurement matters to meet business strategic objectives. Maintain strong relationships across the group, demonstrating effective leadership to deliver procurement plans and strategy. · Leadership: Coach, train and motivate direct reports to support their development needs ensuring DISleadership values are always demonstrated. · Integrity · Fairness · Respect · Technical compliance: Have deep knowledge of the technical and compliance approvals required for all allocated areas of spend, working closely with the appropriate internal key stakeholders across the group to proactively ensurei that procured items and suppliers meet the company’s quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements and clients specifications · Reporting & Systems: To develop,implement and maintain procurement reporting current systems, ensuring board have regular full visibility of pricing, volume expenditure and supplier performance on an agreed basis.
