The Role
This role is part time, 18.5 hours per week. The service can reasonably flexible on which days are to be worked and will discuss this at interview with shortlisted candidates.
We are a busy social work team committed to promoting positive outcomes for disabled children and their families. You will undertake a statutory social work role which includes completion of children and family assessments, developing care plans and short break support plans and reviews, working with children in need, Children Looked After and those in need of protection. The role includes court work and providing duty cover on a rota basis.
Bolton Disabled Children’s Services work in partnership with children, families and with partner agencies in order that disabled children and young people achieve their maximum potential. We can offer you a varied, rewarding and challenging work load, experienced colleagues with a range of skills to share and learn from, the opportunity to develop your skills in working with children with a range of needs and the opportunity to develop and enhance your existing statutory social work knowledge across all areas of Children’s social work practice. About You
You will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
You will be enthusiastic, creative and self motivated.
You will be able to form productive relationships with children, families and professionals in order to make a positive difference to the lives of the most vulnerable children in Bolton.
You will have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of working in a related field. Your approach will be child-focused and you will be hard-working, flexible, and a good team player. You will be able to identify risk and use supervision to support your professional development.
