Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working closely with a special school based in Dawlish. They are seeking a strong HLTA to work ideally on a full time basis, providing support across the school.
Based on a stunning campus surrounded by beautiful woodland and the seaside, our school caters for students with autism and complex needs from 3 - 19 years. Therefore, there are opportunities to work across primary, secondary and post-16 levels.
With an adapted curriculum, no two days are the same. They have fantastic provisions such as a forest school, woodland walk, bike trail, swimming pool and much more! If you are an outgoing person who loves the outdoors, this is certainly a place you will love to work!
The role:
This is a full time position where the successful candidate will be expected to essentially provide cover across the school. The role would be leading lessons or pre-planned cover and well as providing general support across the school where required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support a diverse range of needs. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team. Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting young people is essential.

This is a full time position, starting as soon as possible. If you prove to be an excellent addition to the team, there may be an opportunity to make this position permanent. You will be working Monday to Friday, term time only, 08:45 - 15:45.
