Client Financial Services is looking to recruit an individual with substantial experience of managing a complex finance function to the post of Finance Officer. Applicants should have an in depth understanding of Care Act legislation in relation to Adult Social Care funding and charging and be able to support the development of robust financial policies.
The Finance Officer will have the ability to establish and maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will use your relationships and skills in supporting efficient and creative solutions to maximise income collection. The main responsibility will be to provide support and guidance to the Debt Recovery Team as well as providing wider support to other teams within Client Financial Services as needed.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate an excellent track record in their ability to support and manage others and develop professional autonomy and accountability. You will be responsible for the management of performance including delivering on outcomes identified within council and departmental plans.
We are looking for individuals who are motivated, enthusiastic and who embrace ongoing improvement and development as there will be significant system, business, and cultural changes to support. This post will develop these in relation to various IT systems for the collection and manipulation of financial information from clients, the maintenance and development of successful charging regimes and anticipated changes to the Care Act.
The successful candidate will need to work collaboratively with existing Client Financial Services and Exchequer Managers, Finance Business Partners, Legal Services and Service Managers across the organisation. This post is a hybrid working role so you will be expected to work from the office and at home on alternate weeks.
