Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enriching the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: This is a brand new Supported Living Service based in Morpeth, NE61. What is important to me!
I need a mixed staff team who can support me at my pace. My Autism means that I cannot tolerate people placing demands on me, I am sensitive to loud and outgoing people and would prefer my staff team to be quiet and introvert, with a dry sarcastic sense of humour. I have lived in a hospital environment for many years and this will the first time I have lived in the community, so it is so important for my staff team to understand how difficult this transition is going to be for me.
We want everyone who accesses our services to have the opportunity to live their best life possible. You will be supporting me to work towards person-centered outcomes, which to me is “living the retirement life”, no pressure and no demands.
You will support me to develop independent living skills and maintain my home at my pace, whilst integrating into life in my local community. Kingswell is a single occupancy home for a young man with Autism and learning disabilities, he is a very able young man who enjoys walking and visiting the local community, especially the local charity shops. The property is in the market town of Morpeth, a bustling and historic place with plenty of shops, markets, and heritage to explore.
Regular buses link the town with its surrounding villages and larger attractions such as Newcastle and Alnwick. We will have a core background team on duty 24/7 so there is overnight shifts and we will provide additional 1:1 support, ranging from personal care, housekeeping, and meals to days out and trips to the shops and activities.
