Role responsibilities
To define and govern the technical architecture that supports Transport for Wales’s (TfW) cross-platform digital estate, connected through modern integration standards to engage, and communicate effectively with our key audiences.
1. Oversee the architecture design of TfW’s new and existing digital platforms by defining solutions and creating design patterns to ensure consistent delivery across web, mobile, and physical systems at bus/rail stations and onboard trains.
2. Collaborate with business stakeholders via meeting and workshops to understand business plans and strategies to ensure the architecture for the digital solutions landscape enables improvements in TfW business performance and delivers customer satisfaction.
3. Assess and review existing solutions against TfW’s defined principles and design patterns to ensure that TfW’s existing solutions are fit for purpose and have the capabilities we need to fulfil our strategic goals.
4. Attend technology networking events hosted by external software providers and systems integrators to ensure that TfW understands future trends, external innovation, and opportunities for the digital solutions landscape and use this knowledge to deliver a world class multi-modal transport solution.
Who we’re looking for
5. Significant commercial experience in designing high performing and scalable digital architecture designs and patterns.
6. Demonstratable experience with digital transformation projects; involving modernising legacy systems and delivering complex, nuanced API integrations.
7. Good understanding of security principles and policies and ensuring these are applied to the design of solutions.
8. Experience of working across multiple concurrent projects, to identify and deliver operational efficiencies, and the ability to prioritise improvements based on business benefit.
9. Understanding of architecture modelling tools and frameworks ., TOGAF, UML.
10. Effective working with 3rd party suppliers to guide and govern solutions that will be delivered by external teams.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
