Position Overview:
The School Secretary will play a crucial role in the day-to-day administrative functions of the school. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a welcoming demeanour. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors, providing exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Front Office Management: Greet and assist visitors, parents, and students with a friendly and professional attitude.
2. Communication: Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail.
3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and other essential documentation.
4. Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and preparing documents.
5. Coordination: Coordinate meetings, events, and school activities, ensuring all logistical details are handled efficiently.
6. Supplies Management: Monitor and order office supplies as needed, ensuring the front office is well-stocked and organized.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all tasks.
Qualifications:
8. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in office administration or related fields are a plus.
9. Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting not mandatory.
10. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with school management software.
11. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
12. Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and visitors.
13. Organisation: Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
14. Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected situations with grace and efficiency .
Requirements:
15. The right to work in the UK.
16. Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
17. Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
18. Strong organisational and time-management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
