What the day will look like
1. Assisting the Underwriters to ensure that individual risks are bound promptly and in accordance with the delegated underwriting authority
2. Recording of risks on the Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashion
3. Meeting agreed service standard to bind risks and ensure that the relevant policies are accurate and issued within agreed timescales
4. Ensuring full compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurers
5. Building an excellent working relationship with the GBC teams
6. Provide general assistance to the Underwriters
7. Building excellent working relationships with supporting insurers
8. Participate in regular insurer meetings to review progress of the facility
9. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and input into technical and commercial market intelligence
10. Monitor and control of new and renewal business, including aggregate monitoring
11. To act fully in compliance with FCA rules and guidelines and with Aon Policy.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
12. Previous experience in the London Insurance Market
13. Well-developed influencing skills and the ability to achieve success through others
14. Self-disciplined and organised
15. Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical and numerical skills
16. Proven interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with domestic and international clients, business stakeholders and external bodies.
17. Well-developed knowledge of FCA requirements and standards
18. Enthusiastic team player with the ability to build and develop positive relationships and capable of negotiating reasons for change / plans to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
19. Able to establish and maintain relationships with brokers and carriers
20. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
21. High level of numeracy
22. IT skills: Microsoft Excel and Word
