Job description
Our local authority client, is seeking a skilled Building Control Surveyor to join their team. This is a contract position with a rolling 3-6 month duration. Experience working with local authorities is highly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of building plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes
2. Provide expert guidance and advice on building control matters to clients and stakeholders
3. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure compliance with building regulations
4. Issue and review building control notices and certificates as required
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support inspection findings and compliance
6. Keep up-to-date with changes in building control legislation and industry best practices
7. Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress and address any potential issues
8. Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving any concerns
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
9. Significant experience in Building Control, preferably with local authority experience
10. Class 2b registered building inspector
11. Good knowledge of relevant building regulations and codes
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
14. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
15. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
16. Proficient in using relevant software and technology
