Position: Care Home Manager
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 (DOE)
On behalf of our client, a reputable care provider, we are seeking an experienced Care Home Manager to oversee a medium-to-large-sized care home in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional passionate about elderly care, with a particular focus on managing private-paying clients. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in care home management and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality, resident-centered service.
The Care Home Manager will be responsible for the full operational management of the home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for both residents and staff. Leading a team of dedicated care professionals, the manager will uphold high standards of care, compliance, and customer satisfaction, with a focus on meeting the unique needs of privately funded residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Development: Provide strong and effective leadership to care teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, respect, and empathy.
2. Quality Care: Maintain an unwavering commitment to delivering personalized, top-quality care to elderly residents, addressing their varied physical, emotional, and social needs.
3. Financial Accountability: Oversee the financial operations of the home, manage budgets, and ensure fiscal targets are met, with a focus on managing relationships and services for private-paying residents.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all activities align with CQC standards and company policies, meeting rigorous health, safety, and quality benchmarks.
5. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with residents' families, the local community, and healthcare partners, ensuring transparent communication and trust.
Candidate Profile:
1. Experience: A solid background in managing medium to large care homes, ideally with experience in elderly care.
2. Private Client Expertise: Proven ability to work effectively with privately paying clients, ensuring a high standard of service and satisfaction.
3. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities, with a talent for motivating and nurturing a team.
4. Clinical Experience: While a nursing qualification is beneficial, it is not essential for candidates with substantial management experience.
5. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and a capacity for building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders.
