Responsibilities of Electronics Engineer
* Develops circuits and sub-systems aligned with customer requirements, ensuring the final product is reliable, manufacturable, and meets cost objectives.
* Delivers prompt, precise, and technically sound solutions to technical challenges encountered during development, production, and service phases.
* Validates circuit and system designs through simulations, practical testing, and relevant environmental testing.
* Integrates regulatory, legislative, environmental, and safety standards into the design process.
* Approves modifications to the product build standard following its launch, driven by continuous improvement initiatives, obsolescence challenges, or changes in legislation or regulations.
* Identifies intellectual property rights or patent-related issues and opportunities, ensuring these are evaluated and spearheading the submission of claims when necessary.
* Conducts regular assessments of the product market and technological advancements to pinpoint opportunities for new product development or upgrades, collaborating with business leadership to shape these into future development plans where appropriate.
What are we looking for in an Electronics Engineer?
* In-depth expertise in the design of power electronic systems, including:
1. Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design
2. PCB design
3. High-frequency digital and analogue circuits for MILSPEC applications
4. High-frequency magnetic components such as transformers
5. Experience with high voltage and high-power systems (3 to 10kV, 500W to 2kW) is highly desirable
* Skilled in designing electronic systems for reliability (MTBF)
* Understanding of encapsulation techniques for electronics in challenging environments
* Proficient in analysing design failure mechanisms using DfMEA and FMECA methods
* Strong awareness of electrical safety requirements and commitment to safe working practices
* Familiarity with PCB layout tools, schematic capture, manufacturing techniques, and software like Mathcad
* Degree in Electronic Engineering
