About the role:
As a QEHB Charity Senior Corporate Fundraiser you will primarily be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in Edgbaston, with frequent travel off site to attend meetings and events.
You will be key in helping to build new relationships with corporates across the region and nationally as well as nurture existing supporters. This role is for someone with considerable experience in corporate fundraising (ideally 3-5 years) within a Charity with a proven track record of delivering on income targets and proactively generating fundraising leads and ideas.
The Senior Fundraiser will work closely with other members of the hospital charity and will be responsible for delivering demanding fundraising targets from corporate supporters and local businesses. This role will cover fundraising for all aspects of the hospital, including the hospital charity’s work with military patients.
This role will be responsible for designing and implementing new fundraising projects to offer our corporate donors, with the aim of driving income and increasing engagement across the four hospitals.
As well as generating a substantial income stream for the Charity, the successful candidate will also work alongside the Communications Team to design a communications strategy that increases both engagement and income generation.
The post holder will also be involved in the organisation and delivery of fundraising events for the Charity. This role will involve regular evening and weekend work at charity events and events organised by our supporters.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
* Develop and implement plans that will maximise opportunities for fundraising with local businesses and corporate partners who have the potential to generate income to advance the Charity's fundraising ambitions, both individually and as part of a wider fundraising team.
* Provide excellent stewardship to key supporters and corporate volunteers and build strong relationships with potential new supporters.
* Build excellent relationships with key clinical colleagues to ensure the different wards and departments are working effectively with the charity
* Proactively use the fundraising database to develop and manage supporter relationships.
* Work with and deliver clear objectives and key performance indicators.
* Proactively contribute to the achievement of targets and the ongoing fundraising success of the Charity as a whole and to be a supportive, effective and integrated team member.
COMMUNICATION
* Relaying accurate and timely information to the fundraising team, the Charity Chief Executive and Charity Trustees on a regular basis.
* Communicating with clinical and non-clinical staff within the hospital. Communicating with donors and fundraisers. Dealing with enquiries from the general public, disseminating information and ensuring that the appropriate action is taken, whilst maintaining the Charity’s policies and procedures
ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintaining Raiser's Edge donor management system. Accurate data inputting of donations, fundraising, Gift Aid declarations, thank you letters and general archiving, production and upkeep of databases.
* Recording fundraising activity for other members of the team, including amounts raised and events attended.
* To organise with the rest of the team and charity the manning levels of the office to ensure a continual service to the public.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ability to present oneself in a professional manner as a representative of the hospital and the charity.
* To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duty including fundraiser and donor data.
* To maintain an accurate effective database, recording essential information and providing statistical data in accordance with guidelines and policy using Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Office, Word and Access.
