Overview:
Passionate about ensuring top-tier quality in food production? We are seeking a proactive Food Safety and Quality Specialist to lead our Clients’ efforts in maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems. From overseeing food safety to managing HACCP plans, you'll play a pivotal role in our Clients’ team's success.
Essential Job Functions/ Skills:
1. Management and improvement of Quality Management Systems including documentation, control and adherence to regulatory requirements, customer and internal driven requirements.
2. Manage day to day food safety and quality with review of quality records and product release.
3. Ensure that all aspects of HACCP plan development, documentation and control are in place.
4. Provide direction and guidance to plant team and display leadership in directing quality in the areas of product evaluation and proper documentation.
5. Understand the manufacturing process flow, including auditing key programs that support overall sanitation, maintenance and inspection of the equipment/areas.
6. Participate in and help identify and lead plant continuous improvement quality initiatives, analyze and report leading and lagging KPIs.
7. Understand food safety and quality standards, follow those standards and know what to do and who to contact when some process is not functioning correctly.
8. Identify and address non-compliance issues in an effective manner and make corrections.
9. Identify opportunities for corrective and preventive action to minimize and eliminate food safety & quality attribute concerns.
10. Support Sensory, Quality Systems, SPC & HACCP through individual and small group training/coaching with employees involved in the process.
11. Able to train others on product food safety and quality checks and support development of Food Safety Culture on site.
12. Conduct root cause analysis and follow-up to corrective actions as it relates to safety, quality, and productivity.
13. Responsible for isolating, tagging, and electronically placing defective materials on HOLD.
14. Maintain food safety and quality work instructions and verification of on-line quality processes. Areas for improvement will be addressed through training.
15. Participate actively in audit preparation and follow-up.
16. Manage finished goods documentation eg. True View, label updates, quality certificates.
17. Support and lead HACCP team and related initiatives.
18. Understand current EU labeling requirements and ensure timely development and approval of finished product labels.
19. Knowledge about food microbiology and managing micro risks in food production environment.
20. Lead customer satisfaction/complaint resolution process, coordinate investigation and identification of CAPA with other departments.
21. Manage supplier approval process including supplier risk assessment and evaluation, master specification of raw materials approval and supplier audit process.
22. Manage Food Safety Management System documentation, ensuring all documents are up to date and reviewed on time.

6. Degree in Science related discipline desirable.
7. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality or food safety in food manufacturing.
8. Demonstrated reasoning ability as required to resolve personnel issues & scheduling conflicts.
9. Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision.
10. Consistently practice time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
