Stopover project provides an accommodation based housing support service to 14 young people aged 16 - 25 years. Each young person has their own bedsit room, which comprises of a sitting room / bedroom, kitchen and en-suite bathroom. The aim of the service is to support young people to develop their independent living skills in order to move on to less supported accommodation or a tenancy of their own.
The project is staffed 24 hours a day with a sleepover and nightshift in operation.
The young people supported by the service have adverse childhood experiences and secondary issues such as poor mental health, addictions, involvement with criminal justice system and enduring trauma.
Transition mentors currently work on a rolling 7 week rota which comprises of early, day, late and sleepover shifts. The project has dedicated nightshift workers and therefore will not form part of your rota.
This is a full time permanent role working 39 hours per week.
