Job Purpose: To provide accurate, precise and up-to-date information pertaining to location, boundaries, topography, legal descriptions and development of land. For cadastral surveyor role, you will also carry out land title surveys for lodgement into the national land titles system in New Zealand. For land development role, you will prepare and liaise with associated professionals on land development infrastructure designs and make such applications to Council and supervise and certify completion certificates for land developments.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Business:
* Liaising with clients and other key stakeholders
* Fostering good relationships with colleagues, clients and other key stakeholders
* Business development – develop new clients and promoting Paterson Pitts in the community
* Invoicing and monitoring Work in Progress and follow up debtors for payment
* Liaising with various Councils and developing working relationships with key officers
1. Planning:
* Assisting with resource consents, plans of proposed subdivision, surveying support for planning
* Liaising with the planning team and other agencies as required to ensure satisfactory resource consent outcomes for clients
2. Surveying:
* Project Management of surveying projects (time, cost, stakeholders, resources etc) including outsourcing works to contractors as required.
* Liaising with LINZ on survey and all related matters
* Reporting on survey projects
* Utilising Landonline for its full range of capabilities
* Use of 12D software for surveying calculations and drawing
* Coordinating/undertaking field surveys as required
* Supervision and mentoring of junior and graduate surveyors
* Cadastral Supervision and guidance of Cadastral surveys
* Supervision and guidance of other survey works
* Quality Assurance and overall responsibility for Cadastral Survey Datasets submitted through Landonline
* Application for RMA certifications
* Undertake and ensure that field and office-based survey work is performed to professional and relevant standards.
* Undertake Quality Assurance of scheme designs.
* Complete compliance certifications.
* Assist with the maintenance and development of surveying procedures.
* Undertake Engineering design and construction observation (under the direction of a suitably qualified Engineer).
* Use of 12D software for land development civil Engineering design, calculations and drawings (earthworks, drainage, roads, services)
* Preparation of NZS3910 engineering contracts for land development
* As constructed surveys to comply with consent conditions
3. Compliance:
* Increasing and maintaining knowledge through Continuing Professional Development - both organised events and self-education
* Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety matters in all work-related activities
* Assisting in updating and preparing new procedures and guidelines for the improvement of efficiency, consistency, productivity and safety within the group
Experience/Attributes/Qualifications:
* 7 years+ PQE in Land Surveying.
* Bachelor of Surveying degree.
* New Zealand Licensed Cadastral Surveyor status or close to completion
* Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, 12D, e-surveys and dataset lodgement with LINZ.
* Experience overseeing projects.
* A history of good client relationships.
