We are looking for a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to join our team in Leeds. This is a full-time role, starting immediately and continuing until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding our students and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.

Key Requirements:
1. Essential:
2. Relevant experience in safeguarding and child protection
3. Educated to Level 3 or above
4. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
5. Desirable:
6. Degree or equivalent qualification (A, I)
7. Experience working with young people post-16 (A, I, R)
8. First Aid qualification
Responsibilities:
9. Lead on safeguarding and child protection issues, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
10. Develop, implement, and review safeguarding policies and procedures.
11. Provide support and guidance to staff on safeguarding concerns, including managing referrals and liaising with external agencies.
12. Conduct risk assessments and ensure that appropriate action is taken to protect students.
13. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all safeguarding concerns and actions taken.
14. Deliver training and raise awareness among staff and students about safeguarding and child protection issues.
15. Work closely with pastoral teams, parents, and carers to support the well-being of students.
16. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding practices within the school.
