Job Description:
Perform planned and reactive maintenance support to Automation and Business IT systems, reducing breakdowns and minimizing plant disruption time. Responsible for improvements and changes to site Automation and Business IT systems, taking ownership of Automation related activities to facilitate the successful delivery of Capital and business IT systems projects.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant automation and business IT systems in accordance with EHS, GMP, GAMP, and other regulatory requirements. Ensure all automation maintenance activities on business-critical plant and machinery are performed on time.
Take responsibility for Automation activities relating to capital projects, according to business requirements and relevant EHS, GMP, GAMP, and other regulatory requirements.
Engage in continuous improvement of automated systems and investigate novel technologies to enhance business automation, while adhering to EHS, GMP, GAMP, and other regulatory requirements.
Develop solutions when the reliability of Automation systems is impacted by obsolescence or equipment failure. Implement identified changes, replacements, and improvements in line with business requirements and relevant regulatory standards.
Support business IT systems related to plant operation by using automation knowledge to interface with other business functions, ensuring systems align with business requirements and relevant EHS, Engineering, and Quality standards.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree qualified in a technically focused subject
2. Member of an engineering body working towards chartership
3. Proven experience leading Automation/IT projects and maintenance
4. Proven experience working with electrical control systems, PLCs, and HMIs
5. Proven experience working with serialization tracking and vision systems
6. Deep understanding of automation, controls, and production IT systems
7. Strong experience in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming
8. High level of technical understanding of pharmaceutical processes and equipment, including Quality and EHS requirements
9. Knowledge of GAMP
10. Effective communicator
11. Team player
12. Effective problem-solving skills
13. Office based with some time at suppliers and on plant
14. On-call shift pattern to provide critical business support; 'out of hours' production operates 24/6
