Main duties of the job
Therole of the Access Team Shift Manager is to facilitate the safe operation andmanagement of the Adult Access team during allocated periods of responsibility.The Access Team comprises integrated Crisis & Hospital Liaison (ICHL),Single Point of Access (SPA), Home Treatment (HTT) and Well Together services.The role involves a high level of clinical and management responsibility,requiring sound clinical judgement, the ability to listen & communicateeffectively and the ability to guide and inspire a team of professionals tobest meet the needs of the people using services, particularly when there arecompeting priorities and complex circumstances.
Supported by the wider management team, the post holder will role-modelevidence-based, person-centred and trauma-informed assessment and interventionin accordance with the services operational policy, national guidance andlegislation. Working with and accepting referrals from other services bothwithin and outside of Navigo.

Job responsibilities
Clinicalpractice and patient care
Ensurepractice of self and team reflects the assessment response times and othermetrics and outcome measures;
Design,deliver and evaluate care plans;
Attendand sometimes lead appropriate appointments and meetings, including MDTs,follow-up and assessment appointments, team meetings, etc.;
To beresponsible for undertaking full mental health triage and assessment of careneeds of patients presenting with complex clinical conditions;
Todetermine management plans, and where appropriate, deliver short terminterventions for people who are referred with complex mental health needsbased upon a comprehensive biopsychosocial, risk and needs assessment of thatindividual;
Todetermine and implement the appropriate treatment and risk management pathwayfor assessed individuals
Communication
Provideand facilitate comprehensive handover, and ensure appropriate and timelyinformation sharing;
Wherenecessary, ensure timely, good quality information, shared in the mostappropriate manner, to management, other teams & services, safeguarding,colleagues, people using services and other people involved in the care ofthose using our services
Analytical
Useand evaluate data, evidence and other information to guide positive outcomesfor patients and to ensure the delivery of an efficient and safe service

People,service and site management
Undertakebasic people management duties, in liaison with and under the direction of theBusiness, People & Performance Manager
Maintainand support others to maintain mandatory training, and continuous professionaldevelopment;
Takeultimate responsibility for the shift management of the Access Team and act assite lead for Harrison House when on duty;
Tocover the 24/7 Access Team rota, and on-call rota;
Toprovide on-call support to services across the organisation, including advisingand supporting teams to resolve issues that arise;
Tosupervise and manage the daily workload in such a way to maximise efficiency,ensuring that duties are discharged safely and effectively. This includes the processing,evaluation and allocation of referrals as appropriate to the teams function,and an efficient caseload management system;
Torole model and embed practice in accordance with our values, including that ofattitude, conduct, language and clinical practice;
Participatein and undertake managerial, live and clinical supervision;
Deputisefor short periods of time in the absence of senior management
Information
Toundertake investigations in-line with the relevant organisational policy ornational guidance, including complaints, Incidents, serious incidents andstructured judgement reviews;
Ensureaccurate, comprehensive and relevant records;

Research
Conductresearch and evaluation in order to support informed continuous development andimprovement to the service and the team members
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
1. Five years post-registration mental health work experience
2. Evidenced knowledge of relapse prevention
3. 3 years supervision, management and/or leadership experience in a health or social care environment
4. Experience using patient records system(s)
5. 3 years experience using clinical assessment tools
6. 3 years experience formulating and delivering biopsychosocial interventions
Knowledge
Essential
7. Knowledge of the principles of non-medical prescribing and the use of patient group directives/protocols
8. Evidenced knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred approaches
Desirable
9. Knowledge of issues involved in the treatment of mental illness and relapse prevention
10. Can demonstrate experience in audit and research.
Qualifications
Essential
11. Current professional qualification in health or social care to degree/diploma level (RMN/RNMH/OT)
12. UK professional registration ( provide UK NMC PIN, UK Social Work Registration Number, UK HCPC registration number)
Desirable
13. IT qualification to level 2 or above;
14. Supervisory, management or leadership qualification to level > 3;
15. Maths and English level 3 at C grade or above (grade > 4);
16. Post qualification award in health/social care at degree or equivalent level
17. Clinical Supervision Training
18. Nurse prescribing
19. Masters level study
20. Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) trained
21. ENB 998 or other NMC approved mentor qualification or mentor qualification appropriate to discipline
