Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years. We’re recruiting for students to join our IT Industrial Placement programme at our Moorgate office (London). Taking on a real job at a junior level, you'll have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues. What we’re looking for Disciplines in IT Design, IT Security & IT Architecture. A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference. Experience in Technical Architecture and Technical design. Understanding of IT networking, firewalls and associated technologies.An understanding of design and deployment of Microsoft enterprise technologies. A market awareness and ability to compare options including creation and assessment of options papers.An interest in gaining experience and certification in IT security design and architecture.A drive to develop a career in design and deployment of IT security Architecture or IT Architecture design. A confidence to bring innovative solutions and approaches to problem solving and product selection. Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the construction of a Nuclear Power Station using modern day digital construction tooling and methodologies. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You’ll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree. Students on a IT Industrial Placement should expect to be involved in activities such as: Defining options for new product deployments.Creating options papers including recommending solutions for investment.Demonstrating our cyber safety commitments are being met through use of technical controls.Bringing innovation, new technologies and ways of working.
