Job description
Morgan Hunt are currently working with the General Osteopathic Council (a well-established Healthcare Regulator) in their search for a permanent part-time Governance Manager to act as a central point for all governance related activity forward thinking on anticipating issues and acting upon them.
You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to staff and governance members on governance related work. You will also be liaising with members of Council, Committees, working groups and stakeholders in preparation for Council and Committee meetings and working with the Chief Executive and Chair to identify Committee development needs.
The successful candidate will be someone with demonstrated experience of attending non-executive meeting, drafting agendas and taking accurate detailed minutes. You must have attention to detail to accuracy and quality. You must also possess excellent administration, and verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
7. Drafting agendas in partnership with relevant staff members, prepare Chairs briefings, attend meetings
8. Take minutes for Council meetings, Audit Committee and Policy and Education Committee (Statutory Education Committee)
9. Acting as central point for all governance related activity, forward thinking on anticipating issues and acting upon them
10. Responsible for providing advice and guidance to staff and governance members on governance related work
11. Ensuring that you keep up to date with governance principles, best practice and changes and apply these to governance related activities and documents
12. Liaising with members of Council, Committees, working groups and stakeholders in preparation for Council and Committee meetings
13. Keeping up to date with equality, diversity and inclusion principles and best practice
14. Any other ad-hoc duties where necessary.
Person Specification
15. Demonstrated experience of attending non-executive meetings, drafting agendas taking accurate notes and writing minutes
16. Proven ability to develop and implement robust governance procedures and be able to advise on how to improve governance structures
17. Must have experience of maintaining appropriate Executive and Non-executive boundaries
18. Excellent administration skills and attention to details in relation to quality and accuracy
19. Must be able to build and develop relationships with staff and governance structure and establishing boundaries, trust and respect
20. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
