What is the job?
We are looking for a CNC Programmer to support the R&D and Manufacturing departments with the creation of new components for use in new products as well as process improvements.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30 pm

There are now 22 facilities across the world in 9 countries. Here in Ely, we are responsible for the Motion Control and Optical Tables product line.
Where you will be working?
Our purpose-built facility is just 12 miles from Cambridge, within the beautiful mediaeval city of Ely. There are train and bus links to Ely from Kings Cross and Liverpool Street London, and our site is within distance of Ely train station and Ely Bus station.
Requirements
What is essential to us…
* Experience in 5-axis programming with consideration for minimising downtime (SMED methodologies) utilising zero-point tooling
* Experience working with micron level precision for setup and machining
* Experience in understanding engineering drawings and implementing appropriate machining methods
* Experience with Fanuc / Haas control systems
* Use of metrology techniques and measuring parts against drawings
* A working knowledge of CAD/ CAM software (preferably Solidworks and MasterCAM)
* Experience with wire erosion, sliding head and precision grinding machines (desirable but not essential)
* Microsoft Office application skills
What we would like you to do/ to see…
* Program, set-up and run a variety of CNC machines to produce precision components from a variety of materials
* Ensure appropriate machining techniques and procedures are followed by the operators once the product is handover to the operators
* Collaborate with R&D and our manufacturing departments to support all machining related activities
* Ensure quality of product produced meets manufacturing drawing requirements by using metrology tools to validate tolerances and finishes standards
* Ensure machines are running to their maximum potential/efficiency
* Carry out preventative maintenance routines
* Ensure that all machining activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safe working and environmental requirements
* Collaborate with other departments and share knowledge and best practices amongst the team
