Part Time - 30 hrs per week, Permanent
We are looking for a Learning Assistant with excellent organisational skills and a proven track record of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will support colleagues within the Museums Learning team to ensure the smooth running of our programmes for both formal learning audiences and families. This will include gathering
data and visit statistics; ensuring all website information is accurate and up-to-date; monitoring and maintaining all workshop resources; assisting with the delivery of the marketing plan; overseeing the care and operation of the museum handling collection and liaising with schools about their bookings.
An effective communicator with excellent written and spoken English language skills, you will have a proven track record of working within a public-facing role delivering excellent customer service.
Although based at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, you will be expected to work at any of museum and sites across the city. Although your agreed working hours will be between Monday and Friday, you may be required to work the occasional evening or at a weekend.
Our award-winning museum learning programme is one of the largest in the South West, providing a comprehensive range of facilitated and self-directed learning activities suitable for all ages from Early Years to adult learners. Our museums and historic houses are visited by around 1 million people annually, including 50,000 children and young people in formal education.
The core formal learning programme is a traded service and is aligned with the National Curriculum KS1-4, with a focus on History, Art and Science. It is created in collaboration with teachers, external partners and colleagues across Bristol, in order to deliver an outstanding, inclusive and audience-focused cultural learning offer. We also provide activities and events for families at our museums throughout the year.
