Salary: Up to £61,500
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead the engineering team, overseeing project progress and supplier management.
* Develop System Design and Interface Control Documentation.
* Define cabling and interface requirements.
* Review supplier designs and attend Supplier Design Reviews.
* Report in project forums and present at Design and Progress Reviews.
* Contribute Electrical SQEP expertise in Working Groups.
Your skills and experiences:
* Degree in an engineering-related discipline.
* Proven experience in the design of 48Vdc power supplies.
* Proficient in Requirements Management.
* Skilled in Systems Engineering tools like DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
* Experience in the application of functional safety standards, such as IEC 61508.
The Combat Systems team:
This role involves providing technical oversight for both a battery-backed Power Supply supplier and an internal Combat System team through the preliminary design phases in Q1 and Q2 of 2025. Additionally, it includes managing the technical aspects of an Equipment Rack supplier alongside the Combat System team. Both the Power Supply and Rack systems are integral to supporting safety-critical systems, making them essential to the successful delivery of the broader Dreadnought programme.
The wider team is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of multiple safety-related systems for the Dreadnought SSBN programme. This includes managing subcontractors who provide sonar, situational awareness, display, and power supply systems critical to platform operations.
