A local, director owned engineering consultancy that are highly experienced in the specification, design, construction and management of all engineering services associate with the built environment. This organisation has a close-knit, collaborative culture and feel to it with directors who get involved with projects and are truly committed to the advancing and progressing of their highly valued staff. They have a solid reputation for their support and open workplace culture and environment. This company are engaged in a number of sectors including Residential, Industrial, Education, Leisure and more. They are seeking an experienced Electrical or Senior Electrical Engineer who can run multiple jobs to join their Glasgow office.
Role
1. Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems .
2. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
3. Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
4. Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
5. Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
6. Report and technical note writing.
7. Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
8. Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
Qualifications/Experience
9. Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
10. Use knowledge of electrical building services to educate designs (HV/LV Power, Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Lighting Control, Fire Alarms, Communication Systems, Lightning Protection, Security and Access Control etc.).
11. Chartered Engineer or working towards this
12. Understanding of energy and carbon related data capture and analytics.
13. Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as AutoCAD, Amtech, Relux, Dialux.
14. Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
15. Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
