We are currently looking for an Planning Coordinator to join our friendly team based in Buxton.

Main ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Planning Coordinator you will be responsible for:
The role will act as the responsible person for planning & fulfilment of mortar products across our national production network.
Co-ordinating deliveries, engaging with hauliers and external contractors to ensure the effective shipping of customer orders.
To provide a customer first focus whilst optimising profitability and maintaining key systems to achieve this.
The role will support local plant management & commercial teams from within the logistics function.
The role will align with operational and commercial excellence objectives in delivering profitable material solutions to the customer.
Report any risk to Health and Safety immediately effectively.
Liaise with hauliers on daily safety risks
Plan shipping effectively to ensure compliance with haulier lone working policy and working hours regulations
Liaise with production team to sync production and shipping effectively to ensure production and delivery targets are met
Liaise with production and sales to ensure special delivery requirements are met
Support planning supervisor with other reasonable duties, such as reporting and action plans
Be responsible for building an effective daily shipping plan through liaison with customers and internal teams, Shipping plans to meet cost, service and other targets
Provide cover for other counterparts in other areas support the operations resilience plan, coordinate vehicle availability, all shipping activities are SOX compliant
Input accurate data daily to provide KPI visibility to operations, commercial and logistics teams. This data is to enable continuous improvement initiatives to be identified
Develop working relationship with customers to increase customers’ flexibility in relation to production and shipping arrangements, ultimately leading to better vehicle utilisation and reduced customer service complaints
Shipping plans meet set KPI targets -Reduced customer complaints
Increased profitability
Increased H&S awareness amongst hauliers; reduced H&S incidents
Accurate and visible data allows to identify improvement opportunities
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Planning Coordinator will have experience of:
Driving license (desirable)
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience in planning haulage / production / plant outage schedules
Collaborative and professional – contributes to high team morale, polite and courteous even under pressure; shares best practice and
Effective communicator who can adjust communication styles and methods to effectively influence others and subsequently meet targets
Driven – passionate and able to meet targets without compromising the quality of work; able to multitask and meet tight deadlines
Resilient – flexible and able to work in changing environment without losing the focus form key goals and targets
Logical thinker who is able to think outside the box to come up with solutions to meet exceed targets and expectation
