Job Description
Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their Direct Lending team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals specializing in structuring and executing financing solutions for small- to mid-cap transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting transactions across a variety of industries, gaining exposure to both client engagement and internal decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the structuring, execution, and syndication of leveraged finance transactions for small- to mid-cap clients, including acquisition finance, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
* Perform detailed financial analysis, including cash flow modeling, credit assessments, and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.
* Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify trends and assess transaction opportunities.
* Prepare high-quality pitch materials, credit papers, and investment memos for internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including risk, legal, and compliance, to ensure smooth transaction execution.
* Support senior team members in maintaining client relationships and developing new business opportunities.
Skills and Experience:
* 1-3 years of experience in leveraged finance, debt advisory, or related roles within a bank, debt fund, or similar financial institution.
* Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, and transaction structuring.
* Familiarity with small- to mid-cap markets and an ability to navigate complex financial structures.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks and a strong team orientation.
* A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related discipline.
* Progress towards or completion of relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, ACA) is an advantage but not required.
