About Us:

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are focused on putting our residents and local businesses at the heart of every decision. From the policy decisions that we're making through to the services that we’re delivering, it’s vital that we put the needs of our community first. We want to give everyone a great quality of life, with access to a comfortable home, sustainable and desirable employment options, and the chance to live and work in a healthy and safe environment. And our Children’s Services play a vital role in achieving these goals.
The Role:
As our Autism Advisory Teacher, you’ll join our friendly, welcoming team who are dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for children with additional needs. More specifically, you’ll deliver crucial training on autism to professionals and families, ultimately supporting the learning, development and wellbeing of autistic pupils.
In the course of your work, you’ll advise schools on how best to include autistic pupils with autism and promote access to the whole curriculum. You’ll also advise our Bi-Borough SEN department on statutory assessment, annual review meetings, suitability of placements and transition plans. It’s highly varied and challenging work that can make a real impact on the lives of children across two London boroughs.
The advisory role will upskill staff in educational settings to; devise learning programmes, monitor pupil progress and build a range of close working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues alike. Beyond this, you’ll also work collaboratively with other services in the Bi-Borough. You will be able to access training and keep abreast of new thinking within the field of autism.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
